and polyphony for the high feast of the Virgin Mary

motets of the golden age of medieval music

A LAMMAS LADYMASS

'An ethereal clarity that is absolutely captivating.' BBC MUSIC MAGAZINE

Based in New York City, this a capella group of four women is now anything but anonymous the group's recordings of medieval chant and polyphony have ensured a phenomenal world-wide success and won popular and critical acclaim, its very first recording being named Classical Disc of the Year by CD Review.

Ever since the group began in 1986 it has been in demand throughout the USA and Europe, so its appearance in Brisbane is a real coup for the Biennial Festival.

Anonymous 4's exquisite vocal blend is underscored by great scholarship and creative programming and its interpretation of the masses and vespers from the 12th and 14th centuries is astonishingly beautiful.
